Uncharacteristically for us, Bob and I bit the bullet (or more accurately hit the "Book Now" button), and booked flights for a full six months hence to Bangkok and return. Travel is usually done with relatively little fore-planning and then we tend to just follow our noses. The later will no doubt still be the case, however having committed ourselves to the flights gives us something concrete to dream about and research around.

Although the flights are to and from Bangkok, this is to staging post to enter Laos and Vietnam after the great success of Bob's cycling journey in Northern Vietnam in June and July this year. The timing is delayed so much because I am thoroughly looking forward to the six foot track in early March. The six foot is certainly my main focus and goal for the future. However, once this is completed on Saturday we will leave Canberra on the following Tuesday, 14 March and return 5 weeks later. We will travel very light, with just day-packs and an open mind, hoping to explore much of the North by train (Thailand and Vietnam), boat and foot.

On completion of the booking, I lassoed Bob to confirm me availability to travel for the "slow Cool Runners partial 6 ft track" thread on the last weekend in November. Accompanying Cool Running Royalty up there, it is sure to be a wonderful weekend!
