Another day without exercise

. . . but I'm not complaining!
Still a headache / sinus face bashed up pain on waking this morning, but by evening it has improved considerably and I feel as though the worst is over. At least I got dressed and was able to get out of the house today. Thanks for all the supportive thoughts everyone who responded.
Tomorrow, I plan to go to the Lake Ginninderra Stakes monthly handicap. The stunning weather has deteriorated already, with the wind picking up, clouds gathering and the temperature dropping.
Tuesday: Windy with Rain 5° - 19° Wednesday: Windy with Rain 5° - 13°
It looks as though it's just going to get worse though, so spring hasn't sprung in the National Capital just yet.
Mantra: It's never summer until December. It's never summer until December. It's never summer until December.
18 years in Canberra has taught me that!
Sorry to hear you've been sick FlashDuck. You are doing the right thing resting. There is no prizes for beating yourself up in training. There are bigger fish to fry on 11 September.
Glad to hear that you are feeling better. But take it easy so all your hard work comes together on 11 September. J
Glad to read that you seem to be coming out the other end now Flash. About time! I'm curious about the title of a previous post of yours, "not tapering, wavering" - is that a refence to anything? It reminds me of my favourite band (not drowning, waving)
I should see you at Lake G tomorrow but only if I can move in a generally forward direction after having run a kamikaze half yesterday. Perhaps we can contrive to shuffle the 7k together?
I hope you keep improving Flash Duck. Looking forward to hearing how you go in the next couple of weeks.
The dreaded garmin-curse is hard to shake isn't it? Hope you're feeling better soon
hi FD, glad to here you are feeling better...thanks for your email about the half & pacing myself - i might try and position myself between the sub 2hr & the sub 1:50 groups but i do want to make sure i finish!
BTW, i thought i'd encourage the warmer weather by wearing shorts to walk (well it was nice and warm this morning!)...now i'm not sure if it was the right move!
Do hope you have recovered by now FD. It's damn difficult when our temps keep changing so much - 23 down to 13 is a bit hard to take and it was so cold and windy today! If you send me the team name I can enter CT on the net if that's easier. Take care of yourself - you have done the training for Sydney so it's a good idea to allow your body to fully recover (specially in this cold weather).
